Great Chinese food here. The service is authentic too.

Super essen! Aber am Abend muss man etwas Zeit mitbringen.

Decided to try based on food network and hotel recommendations. Chair literally had duct tape holding back together. The wonton soup was served hot and was the highlight of the meal. The egg fried rice was more show than flavor, egg is not enough protein to flavor a dish. Beef was neither crispy of soft. Sort of in between and lacking the either spice or savory. Too many other options without the wait

Delicious dinner with friends at House of Nanking. Don’t expect anything fancy or a comfortable hang out type place, here you get an eat and get out kinda place cause there is always a line of people waiting. Food was delicious including sesame chicken and tofu in black bean sauce. The fried rice was finished table side with more than enough egg to make an omelette. Wasn’t a huge fan of the fried rice flavor but loved everything else.

The best! Love the sizzling rice! If you happen to have Peter as your waitor you should just let him decide what to bring out. You wont be disappointed!

Delicious!!! Service was quite good and helpful - they were able to arrange seating for our group of 8 as a walk-in and the food arrived promptly. There's a wide variety of dishes on the menu so there's something for everybody, but many of the dishes would be considered spicy for someone sensitive to spice. Everyone enjoyed their dishes a lot.

We've been coming to House of Nanking for years now. Every time we're in San Francisco this is a must stop for us!
It's a small comfortable close encounter restaurant that has the most delicious food! Everything is always delicious and we are very well taken care of every time we come here!
If you're in the Bay Area at all, House of Nanking should be #1 on your list of places to eat. Seriously!

Don’t be scared off by the line it moves fast. This team rocks it and you won’t be disappointed. It’s fast and furious and a bit messy but that’s what it’s all about.

Holy Moly Matrix Movie!!!
This is where they filmed a few scenes for Matrix4 and Keanu Reeves loves this spot!

I can see why.

There's no fluff here - they get down to the point on serving you what you need.
The meal portion size is Large! So two people can easily share one item.

The House Noodle with black sesame sauce is fantastic. Just make sure to add more spice as it is not spicy at all.

The Kung Pao chicken howevywas perfect. It was just delicious and had perfect amount of spiciness.

The seating is very much first come first serve and spacious. I'd say this is probably just a must try spot if you want a delicious, quick, flavorful family style!

Super quick! And hands down the best food we found while visiting SF. It's gives "hole in wall" vibes... but the food, flavor, complexity...top tier. They could charge double and not skip a beat. I will literally return to SF JUST for their soups alone ????????

Definitely recommend any food on the menu very authentic and made up to par, a definite hole in the wall location.

We had a fantastic dining experience at this Chinese restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown. The flavors of the chicken and beef dishes we ordered, paired with the fragrant fried rice, were simply delightful. Even during off-peak hours, the restaurant was bustling with patrons, indicating its widespread appeal. Highly recommend visiting for a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine

My friend and I couldn't decide on what to order and the owner came to our table to personally introduce himself and asked if we would be willing to let him surprise us with some of his best dishes. We were served a 5 course meal for 2 and everything was delicious. I would like to add that I am so picky that I normally order chow mein, so I am very happy I decided to just try something different.

Aug 2023 visit: I gave this place all 5's because the food is Amazing! The peanut sauce was my absolute favorite. The flavors here seriously blew my mind! I loved it so much and wish I lived closer, I'd be there constantly. The atmosphere isn't the best, its small and could use updating but the staff is nice and for what you get, it can definitely be overlooked. The food is so delicious, you won't care how the place looks. If you're visiting, make sure to add it to the itinerary, you won't regret it! I was literally just reminiscing about it how good it was and realized I never posted the review so here it is.

Five Wow’s.
Should be against the law, unfair competition.

Horrible food! My family and I ate here during our first time in San Francisco and the food was almost inedible. Some members of the family wanted smaller portions and were just going to order appetizers. While ordering the “chef” came out to greet us and when he saw we had multiple orders of the same appetizers, they recommended different appetizers. We tried to explain that those appetizers were only for the two people wanting smaller portions. They nodded in agreement and we ordered what they recommended. Little did we know they double ordered all the appetizers so there were several for each person at the table which was substantially more expensive and way more food than the two servings of appetizers that we had originally tried to order. One person in the party ordered the sesame chicken and it was fried so much you couldn’t tell it was chicken. It was all clumped together in an extra crispy mess. I’m not sure the last time the pictures of the menu were updated on Google, but the food looks nothing like that. If you’re looking for a place to eat in Chinatown, stay away.

First day in SF for a birthday trip and the first restaurant to fill our bellies. This place did Moy disappoint at all! The sesame chicken? A banger. The sizzling fried rice? A banger. The pork dumplings with chili oil? A banger. Literally can't go wrong with any of these options. Will be added to my list of must try places in the state of California.

1/ Prix :

A découvrir ;-)
Well eat Chinese here and elsewhere, it is so rare that is worth it. 60 seats in the restaurant, 60 people who expect street up to 11 pm. Never given, while elsewhere it is empty. His time is taken, and in the meantime, one sympathizes with the faithful come from the New - Jersey and clown who has shows in the street for 10 years and assured that it is " the best in town ". Steam pork dumplings and sesame chicken delicious fast, very substantial (an entrance and a dish can almost perfect for two people), £9.
