Explore Haute-Loire's first whisky distillery at Les Bughes. Store, tasting area and guided tour.
It has been producing the first whisky made in Haute-Loire since 2017. To obtain it, a lightly peated malted barley is selected. The choice of an artisan distillery was made with traditional copper stills. The water used comes from Montagnac, a nearby hamlet perched at an altitude of 1000m. Since then, they've even expanded their range: gin, vodka, rums and even verbena liqueurs in partnership with Maison Marcon in Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid. Guided tour by appointment.

On ressent, de la boutique jusqu’à la distillerie, la passion de Béranger … aidé par sa compagne Marion. On se rend compte du travail que cela représente de mener un whisky jusqu’à terme … aussi de la précision que cela recquiert. Quelle fierté lorsque l’ouvrage est terminé de goûter le précieux et réussi elixir. Et puis : de la diversification du gin en passant par la verveine … du rhum … belle découverte d’une pépite gustative de la région. On recommande vivement cette étape de la Haute Loire.
