Opened in 1990, Smash Palace is a Gisborne institution. "The home of live music in Gisborne. Weekly get-togethers on Tuesdays and Thursdays (pub choir on Tuesdays, open stage on Thursdays - anyone can join in!), events or bands on Fridays and Saturdays (see online for programming details). With its zany old hangar decor (signposts, bicycles hanging from the ceiling...) and outdoor stage with an old plane as ceiling (!), the atmosphere is crazy and we love it!
