Te Kaha is known for its beaches, but also for its Meeting House, Tukaki. Te Kaha was the stronghold of whale hunters. At 3 km, the Maungaroa Marae displays a whaling boat. Further along the road, between two Pohutukawa Trees, the tombs of Princess Te Rangi Pai - who was a famous singer - and her husband John Howie.
