Rather out of the way, twenty-five kilometers northwest of Auckland, the Hallertrau microbrewery is a paradise for beer and pizza lovers. Other dishes, including smoked brie, are also on offer. Various themed evenings are organized during the week, such as Bingos on Tuesdays, and concerts on Fridays and Saturdays. Artists sometimes share their skills, such as painting.
