Maungawhau, or Mount Eden, is one of Auckland's iconic volcanoes. It is one of 14 Tūpuna Maunga, ancestral mountains of the region, and rises to 196 meters, making it Auckland's highest volcano. From the summit, you'll be rewarded with one of the city's most impressive views, offering breathtaking panoramas and a unique perspective on the CBD. Formerly occupied by the Maoris and their pa, its well-preserved crater, some 50 metres deep, remains today a remarkable testimony to its past.
