It is located 5 km along the road to Yemrehanna Kristos. The church of the "four animals", in reference to the four evangelists, is cut out of the rock on three sides (it is semi-monolithic). The monument is decorated in the Axumite style. Dated to the 6th century, it is believed to have been built during the reign of King Kaleb, but was rebuilt in the 1950s. The paintings inside are modern and cover almost all the walls and ceiling. Nearby, a spring produces water that is obviously sacred.
