Petit Futé's opinion on SIMIEN LODGE

It is the highest hotel in Africa, perched at 3,260 m above sea level. In addition to the camps at the trekking stages, this lodge at the entrance to the park is one of the most luxurious addresses in the region and is a good drop point for those who have resources but little time to spend in the park.
The establishment is part of an ecotourism project and employs members of local communities. In stone tukuls with thatched roof, the rooms are comfortable, rather cozily decorated and enjoy a beautiful view (uneven according to bungalows). We appreciate the presence of a hair dryer, hot water supplied by solar panels and comforting comforters to fight the cold. The evenings are very cold and you can only warm up near the fire at the bar or restaurant.
