Relais near the cathedral ideal for volunteer hospitaliers

The Relais du Pèlerin de Saint-Jacques in the old town, close to the cathedral, is staffed by volunteer hospitaliers. This is perhaps the first "donativo" you'll come across on your pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and one of the last, as these traditional places where pilgrims can be accommodated on a "free contribution" basis are becoming increasingly rare. 27 beds in 2 dormitories, often overcrowded during the departure season.

J'ai séjourné le 25 mai dernier, super accueil par 3 dames charmantes... je me suis sentie comme en pension, exactement les mêmes dortoirs...Hyper bien placé, juste à côté de la Cathédrale et j'y ai fait de très belles rencontres, Anne Marie, Hélène et Olivier
Je recommande cette endroit pour un bon départ sur le chemin

Parfait! Propre et rénové ! Déconseillé aux habitués des 4 étoiles mais un accueil exceptionnel! Pour être plus précis pour les habitués des 4 étoiles, ici il n'y aura ni voiturier, ni suite, ni valet de chambre. Mais à l'inverse il y aura l'essentiel, la chaleur humaine et la bienveillance (l'essentiel pour le chemin en somme!)
