Organized civilization housed in a museum exhibiting numerous ceramics
You can reach it by going down the coast to the Caletta dei Zimmari (1 hour round trip from the pier). Here, from 1400 to 1270 B.C., one of the most beautiful aeolian civilizations flourished, known as the "Milazzese civilization", which developed on the promontory bearing the same name, a real natural fortress overlooking the sea. The 23 huts, some of which are surrounded by an enclosure, bear witness to this organized civilization, which had millstones and mortars. Numerous ceramics have been found there and are on display in the Lipari Museum.
