This 6 km hike takes about 2 hours to walk from Lipari, or, for the lazy, it can be done by scooter, electric bike or car by road. Like an end of the world, it leads to the south of the island, which is very little visited. You have to take the path in front of the observatory and walk to a superb viewpoint on a part of Lipari island and on the one opposite, Vulcano. The observatory depends on the Italian Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology. Lipari has an intense volcanic activity studied here. The vegetation is magnificent.
