PARCO ARCHAEOLOGICO

South of the archaeological museum, inside the castle of Lipari, in front of the church of the Madonna delle Grazie, you can visit the archaeological park (the visit is included in the museum ticket). It contains tombs from Greek and Roman times. This place offers a beautiful view of the city and of the harbour area of Marina Corta where the small church of the Anime del Purgatorio stands on a rock. Going up towards the Church of the Immacolata, you pass through the archaeological area with its ruins dating from the 17th century BC to the 2nd century AD.
