OCCHIOLA ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

This open-air museum, or rather this archaeological park, is made up of the ruins of the old medieval town which was destroyed by the earthquake of 1693. One can imagine the wealth of the city before its total destruction. Beneath these same remains are still some traces of human life in the Bronze Age. The objects and relics found here are exhibited in the city's civic museum, a complementary visit to better understand its history.
