Castle of Arab origin, seat of the Regional Museum of the Eleuterio Valley
The castle of Marineo, of Arabic origin, owes its present appearance more to reconstructions in the 14th and 15th centuries, commissioned by the Bologna family, as does the present structure of the town. Since 2003, it has been the seat of the Regional Museum of the Eleuterio Valley (its river), which presents the beautiful archaeological remains found around it. It was renovated in 2019, presenting the collection in a new, more interactive and modern setting.
