A border city with Turkey, Qamishli has a special atmosphere due to the brassage of its population. There are numerous churches alongside the mosques. So the sound of the bells blends harmoniously with the appel call. In the city, we speak Arabic, Kurdish, Syriac or Turkish depending on its origin. The best place to observe this ethnic diversity is the souk and its colourful stalls. It is also the main attraction of the city. It starts on the main street and stretches north.At the exit of Qamishli is the first Foothills of the Taurus. You have to borrow the old road from Hassaké to see the landscape but also to visit Tell Brak.One of the reasons that can lead you to Qamishli is its border with Turkey.
