CATHEDRAL
Renaissance style building that has undergone numerous transformations, composed of elements from various periods
Built on the site of a Roman temple, later remodeled into a mosque, then under Ferdinand III into a Christian temple dedicated to Saint Isidore. The building underwent numerous transformations between the 11th and 16th centuries, and is thus made up of elements from various periods, but today it has a predominantly Renaissance character, and like many other churches in Úbeda and Baeza, features magnificent rejas (sculpted iron plates) by the master Bartolomé. In the cloister, you can admire part of the ancient mosque, recently uncovered.
