Set against a backdrop of lush vegetation, the most glamorous incarnation of the Sofitel brand creates an eco-chic resort bearing the signature of the late Kenzo Takada, who designed part of the decor. Sleek design and sensual curves permeate the 92 suites and villas and the futuristic half-in, half-out spa. The same boldness is evident in the main restaurant, which resembles a thatched cathedral. There's also a beach restaurant, bars, mini-club, range of activities, fitness center and 100-metre-long swimming pool shaped like a Mauritian panga - the machete of the cane cutters.
