Seen by some as a miniature of Canadian lakes, Lake Bouchet enjoys an exceptional setting. In the heart of the Devès chain, this ancient volcano crater was covered by the waters. Legends and science struggle to explain the origin and renewal of the waters, but they remain, in the end, a mystery. The lake tower (3 km) is accessible to all types of walkers: A small hour on foot will delight nature lovers. You will find explanatory signs about the origins of the lake and the volcanic character of the region (among others) throughout your journey. For the most sporty, a health course and hiking trails cross the softwood woods of the Devès Mountains: do not hesitate to take the Garou Trail (5 km), you may well be surprised by discovering the funny habitat in which Garou lived (the Hermit Lake hermit). A beach has been set up on the shores of the lake: The most reckless will try to swim, but be careful, water is known to be very fresh! Close to the restaurant, a playground will delight the toddlers.

Un lieux magnifique a découvrir pour les amoureux de la nature. De trés belle randonnées sportives s'offrent a vous ou une simple promenade(accessible a tous) autour du lac est possible. On peut également se restaurer sur place et se baigner également mais attention il faudra ne pas être trop frileux. En hiver le lac entiérement gelé offre également un panorama splendide

“Très belle balade”
Résidant pas loin de ce cratère, j'y amène amis et famille assez souvent, pour s'y balader et pour y déjeuner (Chalet du Lac). Pour le restaurant, voir le site Tripadvisor correspondant.
C'est un dépaysement à chaque fois, car les couleurs changent suivant les saisons. Une plage est prévue en face du restaurant. Des pêcheurs y viennent et les promeneurs peuvent facilement faire le tour de ce lac circulaire et ombragé (terrain plat).
Un parking est en cours d'aménagement, à 800m du restaurant, Sujet de discorde entre politiques et restaurateurs.

C'est l'occasion d'une belle promenade, dans un environnement naturel et exceptionnel. Petite pause possible au chalet. Baignade possible en été.
