HALF-TIMBERED HOUSES
Wooden houses are often the title of "medieval city" in the village of Blesle. They are intimately linked to the history of the village. In the past, many workers ensured the physical life of the city. Merchants were entitled to quote: Rue Saint Esprit, rue du Portal Neuf, place de Mazel, place de la Rodde. There were also many winemakers and plowers. And first-class craftsmanship was grafted into all these trades. Thus, at Blesle, there was the district of winemakers at the Merdan, the weavers neighborhood in Bonale, the tanners on the platform of Voirèze. From that time, the wood-paneled architecture was built. Blesle still preserves more than forty buildings from the Middle Ages, whose wood forms the frame, crumbs, little tagged, and the backbone or torchis are often covered with a coating.
