FONDATION DES BÂTIMENTS HISTORIQUES (SGES)

The Stichting Gebouwd Erfgoed Suriname (SGES) was established in 1997 and is responsible for the maintenance and restoration of monuments in Suriname. Its main objective is to contribute to the conservation of the Surinamese heritage in general and to create organizational structures and good conditions for optimal monument management. The SGES has an advisory role for the Ministry of Education and is supported by the Dutch government and UNESCO, among others.
