FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE

Because of the shared border with French Guiana, and therefore the strong influence of France in this country, but also because of the Surinamese people's love of festivities, the Fête de la Musique is celebrated in Paramaribo! Here, it's an opportunity to discover local music. This major event, organized by the French Embassy and the Alliance française, is growing in stature. In 2023, the first part of the event featured a classical music concert, followed by jam sessions with musicians from the Suriname Conservatory.
