This old building, former home of the rich merchant Guillaume Foy, has been restored by a group of friends, concerned about the preservation of the heritage, in the original style: bricks and terracotta tiles. In this charming place of flamboyant ochre, each historic room is personalized, but all have a view of the river while the modern rooms, equally charming, have their own terrace. Special mention should be made of the library of nearly 1,300 books, the exhibition of the history of Podor and the tribute to Oumar Ly.

Superbe logement à Podor
Probablement le meilleur choix à Podor. Chambre agréable avec petite terrasse attenante avec vue sur le fleuve. Le repas (sur réservation) se prend le soir dans le jardin intérieur. Le Fort est à 200 m et se visite à la demande (le gardien vous ouvre toutes les fenêtres pour éclairer le vénérable bâtiment). A ne pas rater dans les environs: le marché et les anciens comptoirs de Dagana (la ville peut se visiter à moto) et les mosquées omariennes de Donaye et Guédé (la visite en taxi nous a coûté 14.000 CFA). J'allais oublier: le petit musée faisant face à l'embarcadère et le mythique Bou El Mogdad s'il est à quai lors de votre passage.

Auberge qui vaut le détour
Un endroit, un peu à l'écart, dans une ancienne maison de commerce au bord du fleuve. L'arrière cour est très agréable bien qu'un peu encombrée de bazar... Les chambres sont simples et confortables, elles pourraient être un peu mieux entretenues. Toutes n'ont pas l'eau chaude. La restauration est très bien.

Excellent hébergement. Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement... un grand merci aux gardiens et à la cuisinière. La chambre où nous avons dormi était très propre ainsi que la salle de bain commune (en ce qui nous concerne).. bon petit déjeuner. Cadre magnifique. Je recommande fortement cet hébergement..

We have just after a stay in Podor, the inn of Tekrour. The reception is pleasant and nice. We discovered a town crushed by heat but we visited with pleasure. The visit of fort Faidherbe by m. Sy is worth the detour. The fort is undergoing renovation but the result seems to come promising. Room BANON is indeed pleasant and pretty with its direct view of the river and the terrace. We also recommend the small restaurant Yallah Health a stone's throw away from the inn thieboudienne (excellent). We wished to continue towards Matam and Ouro-Segui but it seems that the road is almost impassable due to its state of decay indicated by many locals.
