Located in downtown Thiès, opposite the Manufactures Sénégalaises des Arts Décoratifs, the Musée régional de Thiès was established in 1995 inside the city's former fort, which remains in its original state. It's a small museum, but one that grows more beautiful with age. The museum's current curator, Pierre-André Coly, will be delighted to take you on a tour of his collections, arranged in small pavilions, including one devoted to railways and their history in the region. You'll also discover the ancient artistic world of the Cayor kingdom.
