The largest Mayan pyramid in Izamal, one of the largest in Mesoamerica by the size of its base
This is the largest Mayan pyramid in Izamal, the only one really worth a look. It is also one of the largest in Mesoamerica due to the size of its base, which measures 200 by 180 metres. This construction, which dates from thefifth century A.D., is dedicated to the solar god Kinich Kakmó who, according to beliefs, descended daily in the form of a fire guacamaya to collect the offerings left for him. The upper temple is located at a height of 34 meters, hence the beautiful panoramic view from the top of the pyramid.

Petite pyramide maya située juste en périphérie de la ville. On peut y monter tout en haut, attention toutefois les marches sont très abimées. Très belle vue du sommet sur les alentours.
