The capital of Baja California and the point of union between the peninsula and the rest of the country, its name is a combination of the terms Mexico and California; on the other side of the border mirror, its false American twin is called Calexico. The border wall that separates the two states is perhaps the most striking: as you walk along it, you can see through to the other country, and many families torn apart by migration meet there at the end of the day to chat with their loved ones.
