From mid-January to mid-March, join whale expert Kim Beddall on board the Pura Mia, a two-deck boat that can accommodate up to 65 passengers. For 4 hours, the boat cruises the bay in search of marine mammals. Kim has been commenting on the encounters in several languages for over 30 years with the help of translators. There is also a full day formula with a stop at Cayo Levantado. Kim wishes to demonstrate that responsible whale watching is a viable economic alternative to whaling.

Excursion incontournabe pour tout voyageur se rendant sur l'île de Samaná mais très touristique. Ne pas hésiter à prendre en supplément l'arrêt au Cayo Levantado pour à peine 5 dollars de plus par personne.

Très belle sortie pour voir les baleines. Whale Samana est très professionnel et très attentif à la réglementation pour ne pas approcher de trop près (éviter de perturber les baleines)mais quand même nous permettre de voir ces grands mammifères marins dans toute leur splendeur. C'était la raison principale de mon voyage en rep. Dominicaine et je n'ai pas été déçue.
Je précise que les photos de baleines ne sont pas de moi mais de Whale Samana qui vend un cd pour un prix très démocratique avec les photos prises le jour de la sortie effectuée et qui reflète donc ce qu'on a pu voir.

When the big boat does not leave for lack passengers, there is the possibility to embark on a small motor boat. The pier is a few miles on a beach. You will leave the morning for the day with a guide. The package includes the tower of the bay, visit the Haïtis reserve with these wonderful birds, to enter the heart of the mangrove (which the largest boat can not do) to discover red crabs, fish, and enjoy a drink on board offered by your pilot. Then you will arrive on a heavenly island for a picnic under the coconut trees and shade. Wonderful day. But beware when quickly and a storm in bay is equivalent to a storm on the open sea.
