The Alfred Douët Museum is an enchantment. The place is none other than the former consular house, a masterpiece of the Renaissance, occupied by the high magistrates of the city between 1354 and 1760. At the beginning of the 20th century, Alfred Douët, a notable of the town and a shrewd collector, decided to return the building to the Sanflorains by transforming it into a museum to display his collections. The visit, through the richly decorated rooms, allows one to understand the eclecticism of the patron's tastes.

Open all year round. Closed from December 24th to January 2nd. Closed one hour earlier on the eve of public holidays. School holidays all zones: open from Wednesday to Saturday according to the season's schedule. Every day and public holidays from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm. Nov. to March open on Thursdays and Fridays from 14h to 17h. October + April to June open from Wednesday to Saturday from 14h to 18h. July to September open every day from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm. Free until 18 years old. Adult: 4 € (free visit of the inner courtyard of the Consular House). Reduced rates 3 €. Common ticket with the Musée de la Haute-Auvergne: adult €6.50, students €3.50. Shop. Guided tours.

Éclectique !

Alfred Drouet, notaire de son état à amassé au cours de sa vie divers œuvres provenant d'époques et d'origines divers que vous pourrez admirer dans le magnifique bâtiment des bourgmestres de Saint Flour... Original et enrichissant !

Un musée très complet, très varié et avec de bonnes animations, qui mettent en valeur les éléments de la collection. A voir, notamment dans le cadre de visites.

Musée installé dans une ancienne belle maison consulaire, dommage que la façade soit assez "sale"
Les collections sont simples mais bien présentées, et quelques objets insolites sont à découvrir.
La nuit des musées se fait aussi ici, et les thèmes de visites ne manquent pas d'originalité, cette année, visite à la lanterne
