This international race through the landscapes of the island is very much followed by Martinicans, many of whom take part in it.

Did you know that the people of Martinique are bike-mad? A lot of them cycle and follow the Tour Cycliste with great enthusiasm, an international race created in 1965 which counts about a hundred participants every year and takes place in nine stages through the island. Frédéric Delalande is the most successful cyclist of the Tour, with three victories to his credit. A very popular race in Martinique and much awaited by the locals, many of whom come to congratulate the riders at the finish.
