COL DE LA GALISE
Go there and contact
An emblematic hike in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, the ascent to the pass starts at Pont Saint-Charles, on the road to the Col de l'Iseran. The trail rises through flower-filled alpine meadows, populated by marmots and overflown by birds of prey, before reaching a more mineral setting. Stones, icy torrents and persistent névés herald the 950-metre climb ahead. After almost five hours of effort, the pass, a natural frontier with Italy, opens onto a sea of glaciers and sparkling peaks. A demanding hike.
