Fountain in the heart of Chambéry, the most popular monument for selfies, featuring four elephants forming a cross.
This 17.65-metre ensemble in Saint-Sulpice limestone is a clever fusion of three elements: fountain, column and statue. The fountain features the Savoy cross, symbolized by four cast-iron elephants projecting water into an octagonal basin. They carry towers adorned with bas-reliefs and trophies, recalling the General's exploits in India and his generosity to the city. The column, sculpted in the shape of a palm tree, bears a statue of General de Boigne.

A place in which to spend during the visit to Chambéry!
If it is a fountain in Chambery eye-catching it is bien" 4 Without Q". Much if calling think of Hannibale and plenty of chambérien real meaning of this building is not. An explanatory column is located on the side of the fountain
The elephants fountain, more commonly called the fountain " Four-without-cul" has 200 years, the symbol of the city of Chambéry. Erected in the city centre, to celebrate the career of the general de Boigne in India, it has, in round, halves before four elephants.
This, the visitor will have a beautiful view of a long street with its arches and, in the distance, Château des Ducs de Savoie.

Nous y étions au mois de Décembre et il y avait le marché de Noël à côté.
On l'appel aussi les 4 sans cul.
