With its new exhibition, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon focuses on the typologies of the vanitas from the late 15th century to contemporary art. The 150 or so works brought together, from the host museum and the macLYON, enter into a dialogue and invite the public to question the meaning of existence, the passing of time, the beauty of life, its fragility and the vanity of human pretensions to transcend temporal limits. The event at the renowned Lyon museum brings together drawings, engravings, paintings, prints, sculptures and other installations. Works by internationally renowned artists rub shoulders with those of lesser-known artists for the occasion. More information on the website of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon
