If there is a mythical place in Saint-Etienne, it is indeed the Cauldron! Inaugurated in 1931, the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium owes its nickname to the smoke that comes out on game nights. Expanded several times, it now has 42,000 seats. It hosts the CASE Rugby, occasionally concerts, but above all remains the home of the St. Etienne football team, ASSE, which has an impressive track record. 10 French Championship titles and a huge fan base! A Museum of the Greens, notably retracing the epic of the 1960s and 1970s has been installed there and visits to the stadium are organised, because the Chaudron is more than a stadium, it's almost a place of pilgrimage!

Un lieu mythique pour vibrer "foot". Une ambiance de folie. Un public et une ville qui vibre au exploit de son équipe de foot. En toute circonstance, le public encourage son équipe. Des tifos superbes, des chants qui vous prennent aux tripes. A ne manquer sous aucun pretexte .... et des tarifs plus que raisonnable par rapport à la majorité des autres stades.

Here is the kind of tifos that GG shows us regularly! The atmosphere is to be discovered for those who do not know yet. The closure of the bends to the good sense to continue boil the cauldron.
It is the Place to do sports at will alone or family especially during fine weather. Very vast space for batteries and there is also a games area for children.
