L'Escargot d'Or has been a local institution for over a hundred years. Located on the Cours Victor Hugo, it has been run by Guy Degrange for 36 years. It offers a wide choice of dishes, in a warm setting or on the terrace: monkfish tails with snails, sea bass fillet with sea urchin cream... Traditional cuisine presented as if in a gastro restaurant. The classics among the classics, Burgundy snails are offered here in an original way: a snail puff pastry with peppers! Another house specialty: foie gras, a real treat! While the dining room on the first floor is a typical lunchtime setting, the room on the second floor is perfect for special occasions.

La cuisine est tout simplement délicieuse, avec des produits magnifiquement travaillés. Le service est irréprochable : discret, rapide et très efficace.
Nous y sommes venus en famille pour un anniversaire célébré en toute simplicité, et cette discrétion a été parfaitement respectée. Une belle soirée, dans un lieu emblématique de Saint-Étienne. Pensez à réserver, surtout le soir, c’est une adresse prisée, et à juste titre !
