Grangent dam, 55 m high and 23 km long with an artificial lake, with a majestic wilderness landscape.
Built between 1955 and 1957, the Grangent dam marks the boundary between the Loire gorges and the Forez plain. In addition to its hydroelectric function, the dam regulates the river and serves as a road crossing. The majestic landscape of the site attracts many nature lovers, hikers and sailors alike. The port of Saint-Victor-sur-Loire offers a wide range of water-based activities, including cruises, paddling and pedal-boating. Guided tours are also organized by the Loire Forez tourist office.

Barrage classique sans originalité,mais qui devient grandiose lorsque les vannes sont ouvertes, surtout malheureusement lors des grandes crues.
