The museum that now bears the name of its creator was opened to the public in 1951, but its initial installation continued until 1969. This achievement, known as the Forézien Museum, testified to the hard and lonely work of a woman whose first surveys were in the thirties. Imbued with the village customs observed during his childhood, Alice Taverne (1904-1969) was dedicated to making the atmosphere of the interiors of yesteryear with the attention of the detail, and sometimes the picturesque note. The th century master's house that houses collections also contributes greatly to restoring the authenticity and privacy of a real home. The central foyer of the peasant hall, the seamstress workshop, the school with desks and inkwell, the village grocery store, the mysterious corner of the quack and its viper, the memories of profane or religious festivals, all of which reflect the golden age of the campaigns between 1840 and 1940. The second floor of temporary theme exhibitions is presented in season.
