In the reception area of the Union of Initiative, you can discover a permanent permanent exhibition showing the heritage of the Balconies of the Rhône, the geology and history of the caves of Balme and the territory, a biography of Laurent Clerc, a native deaf man of La Balme who founded the first school for the deaf in the United States. Interactive and video models illustrate the exhibition.

Closed in January, March, November and December. Schedule and opening periods with the public: in February: during school holidays only from 2pm to 5pm; in April: during school holidays, from 2pm to 5pm, except school holidays, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 5pm; in May and June: Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 2pm to 5.30pm; in July and August: every day from 1pm to 6pm; in September and October: Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 5pm; During holidays of La Toussaint: every day from 2pm to 5pm.
