Emile Guillaumin (1873 - 1951) lived all his life in Ygrande. As a poet from his earliest age, he wrote his most famous poem "The Life of a simple" in a "locaterie", in the hamlet of the Vineyards, at the entrance of the village of Ygrande from Moulins.
