Read moreEmile Guillaumin (1873 - 1951) lived all his life in Ygrande. As a poet from his earliest age, he wrote his most famous poem "The Life of a simple" in a "locaterie", in the hamlet of the Vineyards, at the entrance of the village of Ygrande from Moulins. Of modest origin, this farmer now has a museum dedicated to him in his hometown. 2 rooms are waiting for you: an audiovisual room, in which it is possible to desuivre projections that situate the environment of the peasant, and the showroom, in which you will discover all kinds of documents: manuscripts, correspondence, or photographs.
ST. MARTIN'S CHURCH
Read moreBuilt between the 4 th and th centuries, the monument, of Romanesque style, consists of a nave of spans with low rated, and a prominent transept. The fifth span preceding the apse is short and arched in cradle. The octagonal steeple of the 36 th century rises on the croisée at a height of metres high beyond the glacis. Like a few other church churches, the Saint Martin Church of Ygrande was classified as a historic monument in 1886.
