ALLIANCE PARKS
140-hectare park with cedar and redwood trees on the banks of the Allier, with games, mini-golf and a beach ideal for swimming
Allier's parks cover 140 hectares in the heart of the town and on its outskirts. The Parc des Bourrins boasts 585 trees (72 species, 49 genera), including many evergreen conifers such as redwoods, cedars and Spanish firs. The Parc du Soleil, located in the middle of the Parc des Bourrins, lets you leave your children to play under supervision, while you discover an astonishing monument to the bust of Vichy-born aviator Eugène Gilbert (1889-1918), who died during a test flight. Continue your visit to Kennedy Park, with its 388 trees (55 species, 42 genera). Take the alley that runs alongside the parks and overhangs the promenade on the banks of the Allier to descend, where two fun slides will amuse the children, and they'll find fun activities, a paddling pool and the Célestins beach. Take the opportunity to unearth the bust of the Marquise de Sévigné. Then cross the Bellerive bridge and enter the Parc Napoléon III, with its 1,033 trees (139 species, 73 genera) and the Emperor's chalets. From the outset, the Parc Napoléon III has featured a greater variety of tree species than the Parc Kennedy. Copses are planted with native species, while others, such as cedars and redwoods, are rarer. You can also take a stroll along the river Allier, enjoy the rosalies, minigolfs, inflatable games, refreshment stands and snacks, and continue your stroll to the rotunda!
