Ecomuseum offering a visit to the old hydraulic sawmill, and a walk to understand the links between man and the forest.

Forests are an important part of Thônes' natural heritage, and woodworking and craftsmanship were a major factor in the town's economic development in the ^19th century. To find out all about the timber industry, the ECOMUSEUM invites you to step back in time with a visit to the old ^19th-century hydraulic sawmill. The visit is rounded off by an animated walk to better understand the links between man and his forest environment.

Opening time and information on WOOD AND FOREST ECOMUSEUM

Family Plus. Closed from November to March. In July and August, open Monday to Friday 10.30am-12pm and 2.30pm-5.30pm and Sunday 2.30pm-5.30pm. Guided tours depart at 10:45 am, 2:45 pm and 4:15 pm. In May, June and September, open Wednesday and Sunday 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (tours at 2:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.). Free for children under 6. Adults: €7. Children (aged 6 to 18): €5. Children's welcome (educational workshops). Guided tour (booking recommended). Animations. Summer program to be found in the online diary on the website.

Nous avons visité l'écomusée en famille. Notre guide nous a raconté avec passion l'histoire de Lucien à la scierie et nous a montré comment fonctionne une roue à eau. Visite très instructive et ludique! Nous recommandons! Vous pouvez contacter l'écomusée pour réserver votre visite. Des ateliers bois sont aussi prévus pour les enfants. ????

Très bonne visite et de passionnantes explications sur la scierie, le bois...une belle visite qui a durée plus de 1h30.

C’est formidable. Allez y, emmenez les enfants tout le monde va adorer. Notre visite a duré deux heures (il y avait une petite famille venue des usa ; l’animateur devait expliquer en français et en anglais) mais on n’a pas vu le temps passer. Hyper intéressant et amusant.
