THE HOUSE OF THE HIGH-RHÔNE
Located on the banks of the Rhone, in Seyssel - town at the confluence of the Fier and the Rhône - the Maison du Haut-Rhône is a cultural place dedicated to this river. It tells the story of the Rhone crossing Seyssel, the oldest city in the Rhône Valley - formerly at the border of two states: France and Sardinia - which it shares today between two departments: Ain and Haute-Savoie (its lowest point). A room is dedicated to the permanent exhibition of "La Skippers au Pays Pays", while a projection room offers many films on the Rhône - including the one on the construction of the impressive Barrage dam. A place of art and culture, the Maison du Haut-Rhône has a second room dedicated to temporary exhibitions with renewed programming of photographs on nature themes.
