This CALVARY, in an idyllic setting, is the only calvary in Haute-Savoie to be listed as a Monument Historique.
It is the only calvary in Haute-Savoie registered as a historical monument. The setting is idyllic and conducive to walking: departure above the skating rink on a path offering a panoramic view of the Haut Val d'Arly and the foothills of Mont Blanc. The work of Father Ambroise Martin, parish priest of Megève from 1820 to his death in 1863, who devoted his life to this construction symbolizing the Passion of Christ: 15 chapels and oratories representing the stations of the Cross leading to Golgotha in Jerusalem. Even the distances and gradients are respected!

it is a nice walk (even if a bit steep in some points) to enjoy a nice view of Megeve and to see the small chapels with statues inside that commemorates Jesus via crucis. Follow direction for mons d' arbois.
