Bought by the Steller group, this exceptionally located hotel, in the heart of the city and away from the hustle and bustle, has reopened its doors to become a boutique hotel. From a 3 to 4 star rating, room prices have more than doubled - except in the off-season! This charming hotel is atypical with the Nant des Cordes stream running along the building, and majestic with its wooden facades and balconies carved with Savoyard motifs. Its decoration is simply design while keeping a northern mountain spirit. Wood, of course, on the floor and walls, but in touches worked and combined with the intense colours of the fabrics of the furniture and earthenware or tapestries for common areas. The intimate spa with sensory shower and sauna is a plus after a sportive day; while the trendy lounge bar and the pretty restaurant with small terrace are particularly welcoming. The result is elegant and warm. Each room is fully equipped. Appreciable, the location of the Heart of Megève makes it possible to do without your car for the duration of your stay, while enjoying the activities of the resort.

After we arrived we didn’t feel very welcome and had to ask to 3 different waiters before getting a table, even if we had a reservation. Also, during a rainy day of winter, they forgot to take our coats.
I tried their tasting menu, which I recommended because the food was very good quality and nicely presented. The dessert was a bit boring and personally not my first choice: a sorbet with oranges served in January.

Petit bémol: le seul plat végétarien est composé uniquement de légumes. Rien d’ autre! Pas de légumineuse comme source de protéine ni de féculent. A croire que les notions de base de la diététique sont méconnues. Un amuse bouche à base de pois chiche compense un peu.
