CAPFUN DOMAINE DE FERNUY * * * *
Located halfway between the center of La Clusaz and Lake des Confins in the Aravis massif, a magnificent panorama of the Aravis massif is offered to holidaymakers. At 1,200 meters above sea level, this campsite which is a member of the Capfun group offers a peaceful setting, close to the slopes of the resort. You can directly reach the alpine ski slopes and the northern slopes are nearby. Plan du Fernuy is the ideal starting point for discovering the beautiful landscapes of the Aravis, medium mountains of the Thônes Valley, the Lake of Annecy… Two kilometers from the center (free shuttle in season), the campsite also operates in winter, as a winter-caravanning site welcoming campers and in rental of mobile homes, chalets (some even have a small fireplace) and apartments, heated. The indoor heated swimming pool operates in winter and in summer. A good alternative to tourist accommodation in this beautiful valley and a good starting point for hiking or mountain biking.

- They over charged for cleaning on false pretences, 160euros because of a spot the size of a pea on the floor under the table leg, a tiny mark on the top of inside fridge roof and the blankets on the beds which we stripped "weren't folded well enough". We spent 2-3 hours scrubbing the cabin before we left!
- We were given a cabin with a broken toilet.
- A staff member drove past us in a buggy, two women struggling with 3 small children and all our luggage in the snow, it is camp site policy not to help with bags on their buggies but even basic human nature didn't get the staff member off his buggy to help us.
- I was asked if I wanted to order bread for 8am before we arrived. I said "only if I can get it and still be at my ski lesson for 9am" Of course, there is a bus every 10 minutes..... Incorrect information and their mistake but still they still made me buy the bread that I couldn't collect.
- Stupid things like I asked one staff member if the door I was stood at was reception, he said yes... I entered and it was not!
- Despite asking them and being given wrong information twice because they do not know that it is impossible to have ski lessons at 9am if stay at this location because there are NO buses in morning. The staff do not know or help, they told me it was my job to ring the town authorities and find out why the bus stop called "camping" wasn't running the first bus. Surely that is the camping reception job to enquire and inform its clients not a passing tourist!?
- It is cheap, clean, has a heated pool and is in a good location so I will return but the staff and impossible, do not expect any help. You have to sort yourself out here so make sure you do your research and ask locals for information.
