Do you want? A shop for mountain technical clothing that is not a pro-shop? They were believed to be in the process of extinction, removed from the map of the city centre since the advent of stores entirely dedicated to the big brands of sport and mountaineering? ! Here, however, quality is at least as good as at North Face, Patagonia or Salomon: polar, sweaty clothing, ski pants and other medium and high-mountain jackets. The design is frills, the colors are vivid and the fabric made in France, something rare enough to underline it. It is not even rare to cross a ski instructor from the French Ski School here. Très bonne surprise
Accueil chaleureux, de bon conseil et un choix de vêtements techniques aussi varié que coloré. Tout ça à un prix défiant toute concurrence. Incontournable !

An exceptionally good mountainwear store !
Its so rare to see a great independent sportswear shop in France (or anywhere!), esp one that's also manufacturing locally. Comptoir des Montagnes is such a place & a must-visit if you want high-quality, stylish and mountain-appropriate sportswear. No glitz or marketing flash, just awesome product & excellent value. I outfitted myself & my companion in full ski outfits, all color co-ordinated (sorry, it's a disease!) and left wanting more .. but knew it wouldn't fit in our flight bags. GO FOR SURE if you're in Chamonix ! (visit was actually in Sept 2019, but this site forced my date choice)

Superbe qualité, prix défiant toute concurrence. Pour une fois une boutique qui propose des produits abordable et très bien réalisés, qui rivalisent et voir dépassent largement les produits de marques présents dans le centre ville. A recommander sans hésitation, accueil, choix, qualité des produits, c'est incontournable.
