MOSQUÉE DE VALENCE
The El Fourqane mosque («discernment»), at the edge of the Jean-Partridge park, can accommodate several thousand followers. It was built in 1976, and expanded since. It provides for the teaching of the Koran and holds the ritual prayer of Friday, the holy day for Muslims. It is not a beautiful mosque with colourful minaret and mosaics, but it is a place where religion is practised with respect and regularly organises open doors, both Muslims and non-Muslims.
