Anne-Sophie Pic has been awarded an eleventh star in 2024 for her Hong Kong establishment. Eleven stars, including 3 in Valence, where it all began for the celebrity chef. The restaurant opened by her father André Pic, in 1936 along the N7, was awarded its three stars in 1973. Today, Maison Pic, hotel, cocktail bar and restaurant, is undoubtedly one of the Drôme's gastronomic jewels, and Anne-Sophie Pic its best ambassador. Eating "chez Pic" is a very special experience.

Near the campus, this restaurant is a godsend. Well, the outdoor standing tables are hardly used, but the room fills up at noon like a canteen of regulars who greet the boss with good humor. The welcome is very friendly. A warm, overheated atmosphere, some will say, who do not like the crowded tables, a room where you can see pizzas cooked over a wood fire. A wide choice of salads and a few ravioli dishes, gratinas, meats and fish, including scallops in saffron sauce. Generous portions. An address appreciated at noon for those who work in the area. However, some people find the service a little slow...

With Patricia in the kitchen and Laurent in the dining room, Valence has its address as an organic slow food, locavoreand yet gastronomic. We like the vintage neo-bistro atmosphere of this Apron, the warmth and kindness of Laurent as well as Patricia's talent to sublimate vegetables and other carefully selected ingredients. Every day: three starters, two main courses and several desserts. The dishes are very beautiful and really tasty as with these carrots roasted on carrot cream with candied kumquat, fresh herbs, olive oil and roasted hazelnuts, then this label red salmon lacquered with tariyaki sauce, Thai rice, sesame seeds. Wi-fi and newspapers. It is better to book.

This delightful restaurant is set in a beautiful corner hall overlooking Saint Peter's Square. We appreciate the luminous setting, design decoration and beauty of ancient architecture with apparent stone and ceiling height. You have the choice of the slate between four copious, original and elegant plates: vegetarian, land, sea or flavor. All presented with inspiration. On the menu that day, the earth's plate is sublime: Dubarry cream, melting pie with potibrown (miam!), chicken saltimbocca and crispy potatoes. We'll take it again! You can also come and enjoy a tea with a house pastry or sweet verrine in the afternoon. Beautiful choice of original teas or perfumed, infusion, Nespresso coffees and even organic or pressed fruit juices.

At the end of Avenue des Baumes, along the canal, an improbable address in an outlying district. You go down a few steps to reach a first room. You can also eat on the terrace. The welcome is very pleasant. L'Origan offers a bistronomic cuisine, full of freshness and flavour. On that day, delicious goat cheese puff pastry, mesclun salad and a small lentil salad, followed by a dash of haddock with white wine sauce, with a delicious parsnip puree, grilled cauliflower and curry rice. Hats off to the unstructured Bavarian in his jar with broken meringue, cottage cheese, raspberries and rhubarb compote. And nice the mini-Bounty with the coffee.

The small place of the nearby University with that of the Clerks and houses this wise or less wise bistro, depending on the evenings… You can choose between a small terrace and a tasteful design room, with small tables that are brought together for many guests. The chef's kitchen is appetizing, the plates are elegant and generous, and the fish are always prepared. On the day of our visit, fresh tuna tartare with Asian scents is an exemplary freshness and the Iberian pig square served rosé with its creed juice is just falling. We love the card, varied without being abyssal, and we will gladly be tempted by a great salad on summer days or a delicious duck of duck in the evening. In dessert, you will be greeted by this chocolate base and its ball of sorbet with raspberry and fresh fruit, or homemade caramel. Everything is quality, food products and service. Nice control of the cooking. Good address with a selection of wines with a very interesting glass and a friendly welcome.

Franck and Delphine Harnet deserve success for their excellent table on the heights of Valencia. Quality has never fallen in this beautiful address that keeps the level on the length. Traditional French cuisine with inspiration from the world. On the Don Camillo menu during our visit: a compression of apple and fatty liver, honey juice and coriander; crisp bread chips in entry, followed by a yellow place of Saint-Guennolé cooked on skin, roast figs of Valette, chorizo confit. We got stuck with it. The dessert, a fig pie in length, Dulcey foam and red jelly has finished breathtaking. There is so much idea and control here that the client let himself be guided and we spring on a cloud. For amateurs, the menu menu will take you by hand and take you directly into the stars. We're emphatic, but there's something! The decor is a little treacherous but the perfect reception.

The Casino brand gave a boost to the traditional cafeteria, a little treacherous, of shopping mall. Space XXL is divided as at home: cozy lounge, convivial dining room, pleasant terrace, long tables to share, playground for children. In the middle, the kitchen and its islets of entry and dessert in buffets mode at will. There's no chicory, it's self-serving, but rather polite and discreet staff. On that day we had our salad plate of all kinds, which we seasoned in the numerous sauces, spices and aromas at our disposal. Hot flat side, we opted for a proper hot ham with sautated potatoes and a fade ratatouille. At the end of the meal, a small tower on the side of the delicacies allows us to concocble our own gourmet coffee with exotic fruit, chocolate mousse and perfect lemon. If the place imposes its Ikea style, its large clean spaces, its sober furniture and design, it comes from there with a little taste-à-la-chain but repelled for less than 11 €!

Green wall, vintage lampshade, stree-art painting on slate, etc. And still those trees that grow in the restaurant! Just for the atmosphere, this contemporary brasserie is worth a visit. We come to share an aperitif and tapas at the counter before going to the table. The terrace is a godsend and the room amazing with a beautiful ceiling height like a winter garden. A la carte, quite traditional, beautiful salads, gargantuan planks, burgers prepared with excellent meat and served with homemade fries, grilled meats, or even sauerkraut in winter or fish brochettes in summer. It's fast, fun and efficient!
