The Cave coopérative de Tain is a benchmark for pleasure and oenology. Established since 1933, at the foot of the famous Hermitage hill, the Cave de Tain, leading producer of the northern crus (Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Saint-Péray), has been awarded the Vignobles et Découvertes and Vignerons engagés labels. Its wines, which respect terroirs and biodiversity, are recognized the world over for their excellence. On-site advice and tasting. A second Cave de Tain boutique has opened opposite La Cité du Chocolat.

Dégustation gratuite de la production de la cave, en blancs et rouge (il n'y avait plus de crémant disponible lors de ma visite). Grand choix de vins mais les prix ont flambé. Pas grand chose à moins de 10EUR, les prix moyen pour des vins de qualité et consommable de suite tournant plutôt autour de 30EUR la bouteille. Ouille....

If haven’t experienced a wine education & tasting tour I really urge you to do this. AND If you have… i strongly urge you to do this! I had a very enjoyable morning on the unique Wine Visit & Wine Tasting Tour @ Cave De Tain . My tour taken with english speaking Lisa was very professional & interesting. 2 hours walking in the production & ageing areas was very informative. The tour finished off with tastings of 5 wines & I enjoyed Lisa’s encouragement & guidance to detect the aromas with each wine.
The cost is very affordable @ €16, I highly recommend this experience.
