A jewel in the crown! At the heart of the family wine estate, sculptor and visual artist Erik Borja designed a series of Japanese-inspired gardens in 1973. Here you can savour harmony, serenity and the communion of man with nature. Following the principles of feng-shui and the compositional rules of the Japanese master gardeners, he expresses his own sensibility and his nature as a sculptor. Reception, meditation, tea, walking, dragon and dry gardens follow one another from the top of the hill to the river below. Springs, streams and waterfalls feed several ponds, while a bamboo grove links the gardens to the river's banks and the surrounding natural landscape. Rocks and pebbles add a mineral touch. The harmony, serenity and communion between man and nature are evoked, stylized and magnified by the talent and creativity of the gardeners who make up Erik Borja's team. The site requires constant and meticulous maintenance, carried out with skill and passion by its gardeners. A Mediterranean-style terraced garden provides access to the lower orchard and kitchen garden, reminiscent of the Algerian gardens where Erik Borja spent his childhood. A wide variety of Asian and American trees, shrubs and plants are planted alongside local species. The art of pruning is essential here, and offers a brilliant demonstration of the adaptation of this Japanese art to the landscapes and plants of our regions.

Prenez bien votre temps pour le visiter car autrement vous aurez l'impression que le prix de l'entrée est prohibitif. Pour un prix d'entrée similaire j'ai préféré la cité du chocolat !!!!!
Pour commenté un des avis laissé effectivement ce n est pas très adaptés en fauteuil roulant, la personne dit que ce n est pas goudronné et bien fort heureusement que ça ne l ai pas, sinon ce jardin perdrait de son charme. Nous avons était très bien accueillis par la dame de l accueil. Faut vraiment prendre sont temps pour s imprégner de tout ce que le jardin peut nous offrir.
Seul bémol mais pas la faute du jardin, les personnes qui visitent, ils ne respectent pas trop le silence et l envie de bien être des autres, surtout avec les enfants... devrait y avoir des journées réservées uniquement aux parents avec enfants et avec tranches d heures par exemple le matin. Parceque voir courir et crier les enfants se n est pas très reposant alors que le lieu se prête beaucoup à la détente et à se ressourcer.
