Adjacent to the Gauthier distillery, the Musée de l'Alambic houses the largest collection of stills in France, and tells the story of the "bouilleurs ambulants", artisan distillers who travelled the countryside with their stills to transform fruit into eau-de-vie. Beautiful copper stills on wheels and the discovery of a vanished craft. The tour continues at the Distillerie Jean Gauthier, where you can discover how eaux-de-vie are made before a convivial tasting session.

Opening time and information on THE STILL MUSEUM - JEAN GAUTHIER DISTILLERY
Open all year round. Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 12pm and 2pm to 6:30pm; Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 7pm. Visits without reservation, except for groups. Last visit one hour before closing time. Free admission for children under 18. Adults: €3 (refundable on purchases of €10 or more, non-cumulative). Partial tour for wheelchairs. Children welcome. Guided tours. Gift store. Animations. Factory store, discovery tour of the still and its history over time.

In the heart of the Rhone Valley in Saint Désirat, the JEAN GAUTHIER Distillery's still museum recounts the charm and history of a vanished past, that of the itinerant distillers.
On 1400 m2 of exhibition space, magnificent copper apparatuses coming from the four corners of France, as well as a collection of materials, utensils and other tools constitute in 30 pictures the memory of a part of our rural heritage.
While walking through the museum you will discover the DISTILLERIE JEAN GAUTHIER: the distillation workshop, the bottling line, one of our ageing cellars and the whole manufacturing process thanks to a slide show of digital images. At the end of the visit, a free tasting of our products will be offered.
